The features of a Multi User Disk are:
  • Installs a network version of SoEasyAccounting including all modules
  • Includes a 3 user license
  • Additional licenses can be added by using a specific license upgrade disk
  • Upgrading from the Lite or Professional versions requires an upgrade disk (see this link)

After installation you are required to print and fax to us a Registration application form.

We will then send back a unique Registration Key that will lift any limitations imposed

Network Installation Troubleshooting

As we discover network installation issues they are posted here:

Want to find out the user access granted by the operating system? If you are technically orientated you can find file access details using the following command line call CACLS.EXE

Access Denied When a workstation was added to a network, when it connected to the server the message "If you are running the upgrade please make sure all users are logged off and try again"

It could be that the message is true but the probability is that the 'superbas.ini' file does not have the 'sblocal=none' entry installed correctly.

Solution:

  1. Close SoEasyAccounting
  2. Select the 'Start' button
  3. Select 'Run" or on Vista select 'Search' and enter "superbas.ini" and select OK
  4. The Superbas.ini file should show. Make sure the top lines are as follows:
  5. [Superbase]
    sblocal=none
  6. Save and try running SoEasy again
Network Disconnections A workstation can idle out and loose it's connection with the server
Visit the MS Auto disconnect help and support pages

Network Set up Issues The following issues have been identified when setting up networks.

  Broadband Connection

Sparky wired up a new building but labeled the ADSL line incorrectly.
This caused quite a bit of confusion for the ISP and 3 different technicians.
Solution: If the DSL light on the modem is flashing then there is no broadband connection. Try other lines and see if the light stops flashing.

File Share on a Vista installation
A new building has an RJ45 jack point at the POS location.
When we networked SoEasy as per the instructions the following was observed:

1. If the POS workstation connected to the SoEasy data files on the server, and then the server opened SoEasy, the file share was fine.

2. If we opened SoEasy on the sever first and then opened SoEasy on the POS, the system would just halt as the files were accessed by the POS. There was actually no network activity displaying on the workstation at all (see the small computer icons on the status bar). When the server logged off SoEasy, the workstation activated the connection.

3. When we move the POS ws to another location, everything worked.

Possible problem: Damaged cables or incorrectly wired RJ45 sockets.

Update (3/5/2008)
The CACLS.EXE command line could have helped diagnose the above issue.
We have many Vista Network installations that have run without problem and the possibility is that the original Vista Installation in the above case was corrupted.
